5 Common Traps To Become Aware Of When Attempting to Magnetize Your SoulMate

 

  1. Trying to attract a particular person.

Law of Attraction is a matchmaker all right. It’s a matcher of energies; you can’t use Law of Attraction to bring a certain person to you because they might not be on the same vibe or interested in you in the same way. Besides, you may be limiting yourself by zeroing in on a particular person.

 

Solution: Celebrate the qualities you like in this person and the qualities you want in your ideal partner and give your attention, energy and focus to that. Your ideal partner may be this person you’ve focused on, or someone else even better could come from out of the blue! It’s not your job to figure it out. Your job is to focus on what you want in terms of qualities, not specific people and let the universe handle the details.

 

  1. You haven’t worked on yourself first.
    Remember the essence of Law of Attraction is “Like Attracts Like”. If you want to attract a healthy relationship, then you need to mirror those qualities and be in a healthy relationship with yourself.

Solution: Self-Love, self-esteem, & confidence will attract a healthy relationship. Learn how to be happy without a partner first. Practice loving yourself as a single person and your ideal match will be magnetized to you. (There are several tools to help you do this, i.e., meditation, affirmations, books, coaching, etc.)

  1. Talking about what you don’t want
    You come home from a date and the first thing you do is call or email your friends and tell them everything about the date that you didn’t like. Remember you attract to your life what you’re giving your attention, energy and focus to, so when you’re talking about what you ‘don’t like’, you’ll get more of that.

    Solution: Only focus on what you did like about the date. Become aware of what you’re thinking about, journaling about, and talking about. If there was only one thing you liked, focus on that, and let go of the rest. Be deliberate about attracting your soulmate. It works!

  2. Your soulmate is still not showing up
    You are more focused on ‘what is’ than dreaming about the way you want it to be. If you’re noticing the lack of a wonderful relationship in your life, then more lack will show up. If you are feeling resistant, you’ll get more of that feeling.

    Solution: Every time you catch yourself thinking about the lack of a relationship, say to yourself, “ok, I’m thinking about what I don’t have, so what do I want?” Then lighten up a bit. Relax and with a lighthearted attitude continue to think about and dream about how fun it will be to have your soulmate and go on about your life. Focus on the good things in your life right now and allow your ideal partner to come to you.

 

  1. You’re not feeling the love
    Since Law of Attraction teaches that ‘like attracts like’ it makes sense that to attract love requires you to be a loving person.

    Solutions:

  • Start feeling what it would be like to already have your soulmate
  • Watch romantic movies
  • Celebrate and appreciate the loving relationships you do have with family/friends/pets
  • Start a practice of gratitude
  • Be helpful and give love wherever you can
  • Consider volunteering, by giving of yourself you will attract that in return

Send out loving vibes and you’ll magnetically attract the same loving kindness & thoughtfulness back to you.

What are Affirmations?

 

Affirmations are among the most powerful tools we can use for personal transformation.  They support your vision because it’s a statement that describes a goal, dream, or desire in its already completed state.

Now that you are clear about the characteristics of your ideal soulmate and your lifestyle together, you want to create an affirmation to focus your sub-conscious mind on identifying ways to magnetize your desire to you.

Let’s go over some guidelines for effective affirmations:

  • Generally speaking they start with I am
  • Use the present tense
  • State it in the positive. Affirm what you want, not what you don’t want
  • Keep it brief so it’s easy to remember
  • Make it specific
  • Include an action word ending with – ing: I am celebrating, I am loving, I am enjoying
  • Include at least one dynamic emotion or feeling word; joyfully, proudly, gratefully
  • Make affirmations for yourself, not others
  • Where it makes sense, add the words, this or better than this. When you add the words “or something better” it opens up opportunity to attract something even more wonderful than you imagined.

Now the purpose of an affirmation is to declare something as if it was already true, but it’s not manifested yet. This creates a dynamic tension in the brain that results in motivation.

I have one caveat here about the Law of Attraction & affirmations. We learned that Law of Attraction will bring to you what you’re giving your attention, energy & focus to, positive or negative.

If you write and read an affirmation that doesn’t feel good, true, or believable to you, well, then Law of Attraction is going to bring you more of that feeling.

What I learned to do is to keep tweaking them until they do feel good and believable to me. When you memorize them or read them over & over, they should cause you to feel good and excited to attract your desire into existence. If it doesn’t feel good – time to re-write it.

Affirmations do work. Be sure to use them anytime you catch yourself thinking or talking about what you don’t want. Turn the statement around with your positive affirmation.

Affirmations for Self-Love & Acceptance

 

I’ve included affirmations for self-love & acceptance for a couple of reasons:

  1. it’s been my experience that when you go through a difficult break-up it can do a world of damage to your self- confidence. I know from my own break-ups, let-downs & crushing disappointments that it took quite some time to love and appreciate myself again. So affirming these beautiful statements can remind you of the real truth of who you are at the core of your being.
  1. The next very important point in attracting your soulmate takes us back to the Law of Attraction. For us to attract love, we need to get into the energy of love, or feel the feeling that love brings. Are you feeling loved? Are you being loving? The more loved you feel… the more love you will attract! That’s just the way the universe works.

 

Below are examples of positive affirmations for self-love & acceptance.

  • I feel happy & peaceful today
  • I am learning to love myself more & more each day
  • I love myself
  • I deserve happiness
  • I forgive myself

Ideas To Maximize The Power Of Your Affirmations

 

  1. Read through your affirmations at least two times – once in the morning when you first wake up and then again at night before going to sleep. Your sub-conscious mind is the most receptive when you are still in that somewhat dreamy state.

  2. Many people write them out on a note card and carry it with them. Or post them in an area where you will see them often such as your mirror. The goal here is to keep them constantly in your visual field to stay focused on what you want to create.
  3. The process of reading through your affirmations every day brings them to the forefront of your consciousness and becomes a habit.
  4. The next step is to read your affirmation, and then close your eyes and visualize the result… the way you want it to be when you are with your soulmate.
  5. Add feeling! You can repeat your affirmations all day long but without emotion, it’s likely to do very little for you. Remember, the Law of Attraction is attracting to you more of what you’re feeling. So have fun with them, sing them, and just enjoy the process.
  6. Your affirmations should evoke such positive emotions within you. Decide that just imagining these good feelings is its own reward.. knowing that as you enjoy the feelings, the universe will deliver.
  7. Let go of the attachment to the outcome. Don’t judge the process – trust and have faith that it’s working. Relax and let the universe handle the details!

 

Here’s a few more things you can do:

  1. Record your affirmation on your phone and listen often. Listening to your voice speak your affirmation can be powerful.

  2. Use your affirmation as a screen saver.
  3. Set a timer on your phone to remind you periodically throughout your day to think about your affirmation.
  4. Type it out and include it in a beautiful picture frame and keep it on your desk or dresser.
